OVERFLOW Las Vegas
I want to invest my money in a ruby ring. You see, when I was in elementary school, my grandpa gave me a ruby necklace. Because I was young, I lost it of course, and it’s definitely one thing that I regret. So I’m thinking that with a ring, the chances of me misplacing it will decrease.
The reason I want another ruby is not only because it’s my birthstone (Yay, July babies!), but because I want to have a constant reminder of my grandpa. My grandpa showed me so much love and had so much favor for me. It even puzzles the rest of my family to this very day. The impact he has had on my life is utterly indescribable.
I ultimately hope that whoever replaces my ruby ring will love me just as my grandpa did. Praying that he will love me even more? haha And in return, I will be a noble wife, one worth far more than rubies (Proverbs 31:30).

What did you guys think of the ABA throwbacks the Grizzlies and Clippers wore? I am personally digging these cardigan warmups though.

Is it weird that I like the cardigans too? Just look at their swag.

Titled.: Ephesians 4:1-6.

euihwanpqt:

community: a group of individuals sharing a common interest or goal.

  1. personal sanctification (1-2).
    • humility: knowing one’s own unworthiness.
    • gentleness: keeping one’s power under control as a result of humility.
    • patience: long suffering; only possible through humility…

I have a little problem with this definition of humility. If I abide by this definition, then I must be considered haughty. The reason why I don’t like this definition is because I don’t see how “knowing” my own unworthiness is going to benefit the church. If I acknowledge my unworthiness, how will I be able to know that I am capable of doing His work? Does claiming my unworthiness glorify God? Because God did in fact create me - a beautiful masterpiece, right? Or am I just a piece of artwork created by an amateur? Did I just call God an amateur?… Now Holy Spirit doesn’t tell me that I’m unworthy. Holy Spirit doesn’t want to limit my power and authority in Christ. Because if God is a god of love, then he certainly wouldn’t want to hold back on me. He never did.

I guess I can to some extent understand where the speaker is coming from, but to me, I just don’t agree. Because I’m going to look to the most perfect man as an example - Jesus Christ. He embodied true humility. The act of washing the disciples’ feet is considered to be one of the most humble acts in the Bible, but the thing is, Jesus didn’t wash his disciples feet as a result of Him realizing His unworthiness.

And if this doesn’t make sense, I always turn to basketball as an example lol. Whose character is better represented? A captain of a championship team acknowledging a fellow teammate who made an awesome assist or a captain who acknowledges that he doesn’t deserve the title? I know that I would want to smack the latter captain because if he isn’t worthy of it, he should just give the title away. We all know he’s good. He’s the captain… and a now a liar.

“Bold analogy,” you may think, but I’m done with being taught things that demean me and my potential. I think it’s funny that this is being preached numerous places. It makes me wonder if people actually read the whole Bible. Because in Ephesians 1:4 it says, “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” And Ephesians 2:6-7 states, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” So what is Paul trying to say? We’re worthy of it all. C’mon, we are raised up with Christ, and we’re not being arrogant.

***Not in any way trying to bash you, Nathan. You know I love you as a brother. Just something to think about. :)

// Let the Blind Man See//

Today my eyes were opened to see that there are truly people who love me for who I am - every imperfection, every distinctive mannerism, every abnormality. I am actually surprised that I struggled with allowing myself to simply be me. One person told me, “I don’t remember exactly how we first met, but when I did meet you, I thought, ‘She seems so sure of herself.’” But I’ve found myself being so uncertain these days. I have been trying to justify my actions, my habits, and my quirkiness to cater to certain people. The result was naturally frustration, and I was falling for Satan’s lies. I thank God so much for blessing me with sincere, genuine, and loving brothers and sisters that actually see the treasure in me.

“I don’t think so. NO. Just the comparison is too much.”
“I think I drank plenty of teas and stuff, so I’m okay.”

HAHA omg I love this guy. HeeJun, you have yourself a fan.

// My Goal://

  • To learn to not take it personally when my service and love is not reciprocated, especially from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
